Secret Garden

Secret Garden

My piece ‘Secret Garden’ is about how I feel when I’m out in my garden. Some of my anxieties are from being around other people, especially when they don’t understand why I do certain things. Things that I do because of my anxiety or when I’m dealing with a PoTS episode.  Previously I was too anxious to be out in my own garden because I was too anxious about being seen by other people, but now I feel privacy and able to, as the flowers, bushes and trees somewhat hide me from view. It’s a ...

Through and Through

Through and Through

‘Through and Through’ is a painting about working your way through a challenging situation. For me, these past years I have found myself working through many challenging situations, such as diagnoses' I had never heard of before and researching ways of coping and for a better understanding of them. I found myself experiencing horrendous anxiety and panic attacks, depression and fighting several neglectful health and support services. When you’re working your way through tough challenges ...

'Light Awakening'

'Light Awakening'

‘Light Awakening’ is about having a little sense of realisation. Recently, I have had small doses of a reality check, about how I am living my life and what I am doing to myself. Although not all of this is negative. I have recently picked up healthy habits, such as self-care, developing my own style, aerobics, a better diet, working on my art career, just to name a few. These light awakenings happen often, which means I am constantly learning and improving, like art, where you are always ...

Life's a Vine

Life's a Vine

My painting ‘Life’s a Vine’ is about the aftermath when dealing with discrimination. So, what is the definition of ‘Vine’? “A climbing or trailing woody-stemmed plant” When I look at the definition of the word ‘vine’, it brings back memories of the times I’ve faced inequality in the form of discrimination, which so far has been a fair few. In the times I have been discriminated against it’s like you’ve been knocked down, and, like a vine, you must climb. Climb your way back up. Of course...

Horloges de la Nature

Horloges de la Nature

One of my favourite moments of painting is how therapeutic it is. When creating this painting in my garden, I felt truly at peace and enjoyed my surroundings of fresh air, birds, and empty thoughts. This painting is very special to me, as this was the biggest step when I was starting my recovery from being housebound these several long years. The name was created in French because I can see what looks to be the Eiffel tower, ‘Horloges de la Nature’ Google translates to ‘Nature Clock'...

Halloween Lovestory

Halloween Lovestory

‘Halloween Lovestory’ is about a witch and a vampire finding a romantic moment amid a pumpkin patch, underneath the moonlight, the only time they can be together. This piece is to help remind people that love can come from all different, shapes, sizes and angles. No matter who or what we are, we can always find our one true love. ‘Halloween Lovestory’ has got to be one of my most favourite meanings in my paintings.

Sunrise of the Southwest

Sunrise of the Southwest

Created whilst experimenting with Water-soluble Oils for Mum's Birthday, this stunning print was inspired by the beautiful morning at my local hometown seaside, located in Dorset, Southwest England.

Explorer's

Explorer's

Whilst creating this piece, I noticed the figure on the left, soon after finding the figure on the right, which I enhanced. This was all created by accident but such a happy accident it was! I imagine the two figures are out hiking or exploring the Egyptian pyramids or perhaps trekking through a jungle, wherever your imagination can lead to!

The Garden of the Soul

The Garden of the Soul

The green used in the background of ‘Garden of the Soul’ was created in tribute and gratitude to all the key workers around the world fighting coronavirus in 2020. The name ‘Garden of the Soul’ was named in a competition on my social media and it fits this piece perfectly. This painting resonates the story of a keyworker finally having a moment to breathe and relax in a garden, after a long shift, making the feelings of this piece both sad and relieved at the same time.

Freedom Feelings

Freedom Feelings

‘Freedom Feelings’ was created to express my longing to be out and free, which with being housebound for the past 2 years is a hard feeling to come across, yet during the process of making this painting, I felt very relaxed and revived.

Rose Ivy

Rose Ivy

‘Rose Ivy’ was created using ivy leaves. The inspiration for printing with leaves came from an experiment I did in a previous project for college, where I used different media to print with leaves.

Jelly Fish

Jelly Fish

To me ‘Jelly Fish’ is about feeling content and happy with my surroundings as I imagine this is what Jelly fish might feel like in their natural habitat.

City Rain

City Rain

Viewing ‘City Rain’ encourages the experience of relaxation. This piece is perfect for places for tranquillity, reminding those of the peaceful Rain.

Amidst the Clouds

Amidst the Clouds

Helping to transform you to another world in those moments of feeling overwhelmed or stressed, ‘Amidst the Clouds’ was created using techniques with my fingers, when in a peaceful state of mind. This piece is about being able to chase away those constant incoming thoughts.
